Will FSU’s Dalvin Cook be among most talented not to win Heisman?

in Sports/Top Headlines by

He has more than 1,000 yards … again. He is averaging more than six yards a carry … again. He has more than 10 touchdowns … again. So why does Dalvin Cook seem to be an afterthought in the Heisman conversation? Oh, Cook, the talented running back of the FSU Seminoles, gets mentioned … eventually. But long after Louisville’s Lamar Jackson and Clemson’s Deshaun Watson. And perhaps that’s as it should be. Jackson and Watson are very good players for…

USF’s Quentin Flowers wins weekly Sunshine State Award

in Sports/Top Headlines by

Maybe the reason USF coach Willie Taggart was still throwing at the end was that he wanted to inflate quarterback’s Quentin Flowers‘ numbers for the Sunshine Player of the Week. During an event at the home of Rex Sinquefield, Missouri’s leading Republican donor, Walker explained it “doesn’t make a ton of sense” to pour…

in The Bay and the 'Burg/Top Headlines by

It’s late March of 2015, but it’s all about 2016 for a couple of politicians in the news today. One is South Florida-based Democratic U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy, who is officially running for the U.S. Senate next year. You can read our interview with the young Democrat (he’s just 31) that we conducted with him last night. But the big news nationally is Texas U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz’s announcement in a few hours that he will be running for president in 2016. Unlike Jeb…
