Attorney and small business owner Dwight Dudley announced on Monday several key endorsements in his campaign for Florida House of Representatives, District 68.
“I’m humbled to have earned the endorsement of State Rep. Rick Kriseman of St. Petersburg, State Rep. Darryl Rouson of St. Petersburg, former State Rep. Bill Heller of St. Petersburg and former State Rep. Bob Henriquez of Tampa,” said Dudley, a 53-year resident of St. Petersburg. “These leaders have helped move Florida forward and brought good-paying, high-quality jobs to our state. We need leadership like theirs, leadership which understands that folks who work hard and play by the rules deserve a fair shot.”
“District 68 deserves a fighter in the Florida House, someone who will stand up for everyday Floridians, and not just the wealthy and well-connected,” said Rep. Kriseman, Ranking Member of the House Education Innovation Committee. “Dwight Dudley will be that State Representative. His intelligence, upbeat demeanor and forward-looking approach is sorely needed in Tallahassee.”
The endorsements are part of the momentum building for Dudley’s campaign. Dudley, the Democratic nominee, qualified for the ballot by collecting over 1,200 petition signatures in just 8 days, well more than the 518 signatures necessary. The campaign has knocked on hundreds of voters’ doors and hosted several well-attended events in the community over the past few weeks.
