The Tampa Bay Rowdies suffered their worst defeat of the season Saturday night in San Antonio, losing 3-0 to the San Antonio Scorpions.
Omar Cummings scored two goals in seven minutes in the second half, breaking open a tight game and leading the Scorpions to their lopsided win.
The loss ended an eight-game unbeaten streak by the Rowdies, who still lead the NASL in the combined standings. The disappointment was being shut out, of course. Corey Hertzog had a chance at the 16h minute but was stopped. Zac Boggs and Maicon Santos each had chances in the second half.
The Rowdies are home for the next week, facing F.C. Edmonton on Saturday and the rival Fort Lauderdale Strikers a week after.
