Tampa Bay Times expands in Hillsborough; launches Plant City regional edition on Friday

The Tampa Bay Times is expanding its reach into east Hillsborough County. 

Starting June 15, the Times will mail the Plant City Times, a regional section that will focus on local news, to about 10,000 residents on Fridays. 

As part of the expansion, the Tampa Bay Times also will be available 7 days a week in newspaper racks and retail locations; thePlant City Times will be included in those copies on Fridays. 

“For several years, we have heard from Plant City residents and businesses who wanted to pick up a copy the Times regularly. Now, they will be able to every day,” said Joe DeLuca, Tampa publisher of the Tampa Bay Times

The Times has hired a news reporter, Rich Shopes, and an advertising executive, Joanna Verga, to focus exclusively on the readers and businesses in Plant City.
