International Association of Fire Fighters Local 754 is throwing its support behind Democratic state Rep. Mark Danish for re-election to House District 63.
Local 754 Secretary-Treasurer Jace Kohan said in an announcement Tuesday that Danish’s “background in education and dedication to public safety make him an invaluable asset to the Florida House.”
“He has been a proven supporter of the Florida Retirement System and we look forward to sending him back to Tallahassee,” Kohan added.
Danish faces former state Rep. Shawn Harrison, who is looking to reclaim the seat covering parts of north Hillsborough County. Harrison lost to Danish in 2012 after serving only one term in the House.
“I strongly support the firefighters,” Danish responded, “and I promise that I will continue to fight for them when I get back to Tallahassee.”
