The Tampa Tribune is going after a local parenting magazine for payment on non-reimbursed delivery fees. According to a lawsuit filed in Hillsborough County Court, The Tampa Tribune says Tampa Bay Parenting Magazine, run by Tampa resident Angela Ardolino, owes more than $16,000.
A 2011 contract between Tampa Bay Parenting and The Tampa Tribune says the magazine must pay the Tribune $0.14 per copy of the magazine for what it describes as “saturation delivieries,” $0.28 for copies sent to specific addresses and $3.50 per outlet for bulk deliveries.
The Tampa Tribune is seeking payment for its services under the contract plus interest and attorney’s fees.
Tampa Bay Parenting is distributed to various places across the Bay area including medical offices, children’s hospitals and retail stores, private homes, the YMCA and schools.
Ardolino also runs a website – ParentingWithAngela.com
The lawsuit was filed last week. It’s unclear whether the paper has collected any payment at all for its services. The contract sited in the lawsuit was written in 2011.
The Tampa Tribune is facing financial hardships much like many newspapers across the country struggling to remain fiscally viable. The paper has gone through several rounds of layoffs and is trying to sell its property on the Hillsborough River.
