The Tampa Tribune’s overall circulation grew significantly in the past six months, including a 32.6 percent jump for average daily circulation over the same period a year earlier, according to circulation reports released on Tuesday.
The circulation increases include the Tribune’s weekly newspapers covering Brandon, Plant City, South Shore, Sun City Center, South Tampa, Central Tampa, Carrollwood and Northeast and Northwest Hillsborough County, as well as CENTRO Tampa, the largest weekly home-delivered Hispanic publication in Hillsborough and Pasco counties.
The average daily circulation of The Tampa Tribune rose 32.6 percent to 191,477 copies in the period ending March 31, while the Tribune’s Sunday average circulation grew more than 7 percent to 281,086.
“We are committed to connecting and building stronger communities by providing local information the public cannot get without us,” said publisher William Barker.
The Tribune recently started The St. Petersburg Tribune, acquired the Clearwater Gazette and invested in new technology to power TBO.com, Barker said.
“The Tampa Tribune remains the number one newspaper in Hillsborough County and is now the second largest in the state,” he said.
