Taxpayers First, a political action committee backed by the Florida Association of Realtors, released a video ad in support of Amendment 4 this week, reports the Florida Current. The amendment, which requires 60 percent voter approval to pass, would place lower caps on commercial property assessments and give lawmakers authority to address the “recapture” provision in the state’s current homestead exemption, under which homeowners can see their tax bills rise even as their property values decrease.
