Ted Cruz fans holding rally in Pinellas County this Saturday – without Ted Cruz

in 2017/Top Headlines by

While Ted Cruz will probably be visiting polling locations and awaiting the returns in the first in the nation’s southern primary in South Carolina this Saturday, his supporters in the Tampa Bay area will be rallying for him in Clearwater.

A group calling themselves “Grassroots supporters of Ted Cruz in Pinellas County” will be holding a rally this coming Saturday, February 20, at the Quaker Steak & Lube at 10400 49th Street North in Clearwater at 1 p.m.

They’re calling the event “Cruz’ n the Coast,” and though the Texas Senator will not be appearing, the group is promoting the fact that Florida GOP state Senator Alan Hays from Umatilla will be in attendance, along with Carl Jackson of AM 860 WGUL-radio.

The rally will be held just a little more than three weeks before Floridians vote in their presidential primary election on March 15.

The last three polls taken in Florida show Cruz in second place, well behind Donald Trump but leading the two Floridians in the race, Marco Rubio and Jeb Bush.
