Did Rick Kriseman take notes from LeBron James on how to make a decision as difficult as possible?
Difficult on the rest of us, that is.
After months of publicly anguishing about whether to run again or not, during which Kriseman said “I will be satisfied with the maps and honored to run for and represent whatever district my home is in”, the Hamlet of west St. Petersburg created a special webpage to bid farewell.
The ego on this guy!
Sorry, Rick, but you are a backbencher who served six years in Tallahassee. But the way your webpage reads, you sound like MacArthur saying goodbye at West Point.
As for your contention that “one is unlikely to accomplish great things as a Democrat in Tallahassee unless they are willing to compromise their core values,” tell that to Rep. Joe Abruzzo or Darryl Rouson.
The only thing more embarrassing that Kriseman overwrought adieu is the Tampa Bay Times’ coverage of this non-event. Michael Van Sickler dedicates more than 900 words to Kriseman’s decision not to seek re-election.
Must be a slow news day.
