Things to watch for during the final season of Breaking Bad

in Uncategorized by

With a fervent fan base waiting patiently since last year, AMC’s Breaking Bad returns Sunday with the first of its last eight episodes.

When we last left Bad, DEA agent Hank Schrader had a revelation (while sitting on the john, no less) about his brother-in-law and cancer-survivor Walter White. Hank realized Walter is the master crystal-meth cook he’s been stubbornly pursuing, almost costing him his career (and his life).

Solving a major life problem while “busy” in the bathroom?  Yep, been there, done that.

If you are one of those viewers who simply cannot wait for the “beginning of the end” of Breaking Bad, here are some plot questions that might be answered starting tonight, courtesy of Glenn Davis in Policymic.com:

What the hell does Hank do now?

Hank has to be both horrified and pissed, and the way he handles his revelation will influence the way this ending plays out.

Does Walt actually die?

Would death, whether it’s at the hands of one of the many people he’s wronged, cancer, falling piano or anything else be too predictable?

What’s the machine gun for?

Walt bought it in the Season 5 premiere flash forward. It’s going to turn up again.

What happens with the ricin?

The little vial of poison is still hiding behind that electrical outlet cover.

Does Jesse find out about Jane and/or Brock, and how?

Jesse doesn’t know that Walt let his girlfriend Jane die, or that he poisoned his ex-girlfriend Andrea’s son Brock. It would be difficult to imagine Breaking Bad will reach the end without Walt facing the consequences for one or both of those actions.

How did Walt get out of the business?

Some viewers were caught off guard by how quickly and easily Walt (seemingly) extricated himself from meth-making after Skyler showed him his money pile.

What happens with the cancer?

Cancer is the driving force behind everything that’s happened on Breaking Bad, so it would feel wrong if the subject never came up again.
