Mike Mikurak, the Republican candidate for Pinellas County Commission, has received the endorsement of the Tierra Verde Community Association.
“TVCA has endorsed Mike Mikurak for Pinellas County Commission because Mike is a successful business man who has proven that he has the experience, foresight, vision and strategic ability to bring much needed, positive change to Pinellas County,” said Tim Landt, the association’s government affairs chairman.
Landt added: “Mike also understands the importance of having strong infrastructure in place- knowing that without it- our tourism, economic growth and environment will suffer.
“Mike has already taken steps to identify specific problem areas and throughout the campaign has been working towards developing cost effective, value added solutions for our County’s residents to long lived, countywide, problems with great success.
“Where other politicians failed to address real concerns, Mike Mikurak analyzed, strategized and collaborated to produce real solutions.”
Tierra Verde is a deed restricted community located on Pinellas’ southernmost tip. It includes the subdivisions of Entrada, Monte Cristo, Pinellas Bayway, Sands Point, East Shore and West Shore.
Mikurak said he was honored to receive the association’s endorsement.
“Tierra Verde is an area of beauty, tranquility and peace. These residents have worked extremely hard over the years and for that they should be applauded, not condemned,” Mikurak said
“Everybody deserves to have a voice in the County Commission and the ability to obtain community resources. As your next county commissioner, I will ensure that I am a voice for all residents and will continue the plans we have put in place to build a better Pinellas County, not just for us, but for future generations to enjoy.”
Mikurak is challenging Democratic incumbent Charlie Justice for the District 3 seat on the commission. The seat is voted on countywide.
Mikurak, a retired businessman, is campaigning on his business experience. He has 30-plus years’ experience in direct management with such companies as GTE Sylvania Lighting Products and in consulting with such firms as KPMG and Anderson Consulting, which later became Accenture.
