Today on Context Florida: Marco Rubio a Bush-spoiler, obnoxious Donald Trump and Pensacola investment

Today on Context Florida:

Marco Rubio has already raised more than $12 million for his White House bid, says Peter Schorsch, with outside groups aligned with Rubio raising twice that. So far, raising money and handcuffing Jeb Bush are about all Rubio’s been able to accomplish on the presidential campaign trail.

According to Martin Dyckman, there hasn’t been a presidential candidate as fat-headed, obnoxious and unqualified as Donald Trump. Yet more Republicans seem to favor him than any of the others. That says as much about them as about him, Dyckman says. But what if Trump doesn’t come down, as so many think wishfully that he will?

Shannon Nickinson asks if we can put our money where our mouth is. That’s the question the Studer Community Institute’s metro dashboard is meant to ask — and hopefully answer. It’s a road map to help build citizen-powered change, to make Pensacola a stronger, more vibrant community. A guide to know if our community is putting its resources where they will yield a meaningful return. That’s not an investment mix Pensacola has always gotten right.
