Tom Lee draws an opponent in SD 24

Lutz Democrat Scott Landry, Jr., filed paperwork this week as a first step toward challenging incumbent Republican Tom Lee in 2014 in Senate District 24, reports the News Service of Florida.

Lee, a former Senate president who returned to the Legislature last year after six years out of office, also has filed the paperwork that allows candidates to start raising money.

Lee collected $34,250 through March 31, the latest totals available.

District 24 includes parts of Hillsborough County.
