Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives now have another online presence to reach out to voters, through a “magazine” on mobile content aggregator Flipboard.
Flipboard offers tablet, smartphone and other mobile users a digital magazine format for the latest Democratic political updates in an easily digestible form. Using clear headlines, instinctual categories, high-resolution images, and a tablet-optimized swipe feature, readers “flip” through several up-to-the-minute stories, which simulate the experience of a traditional newspaper or magazine.
The new project was announced during Tuesday morning’s Democratic caucus meeting.
“The Caucus magazines on Flipboard will allow people to learn how Members of the House Democratic Caucus are fighting to build an economy that works for all Americans, to ensure Americans have access to quality, affordable healthcare and finally to fix our broken immigration system,” Caucus Chair Xavier Becerra said in a statement. “This new Flipboard account is yet another example of how House Democrats are engaging with the American public on the issues that are important to them.”
