Voter registration for St. Pete municipal elections ends today

If you want to participate in theย November 5ย St. Petersburg Municipal Elections, Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections Deborah Clark wants you to know that Monday, October 7 is the in-person deadline for voter registration.

In addition to St. Petersburg, the cities of Belleair Beach, Clearwater and Kenneth City are also holding elections November 5.

Under a provision in Florida law, the City of Belleair Beach chose to conduct their referendum vote only by mail. This means all registered voters in Belleair Beach are mailed ballots and no polling places will be open for this election.

State law also requires that individuals register to vote at least 29 days before an election. No one already registered to vote needs to re-register, but needs to update their address with the Supervisor of Elections.

Individuals may register to vote or update their voter information at any Supervisor of Elections office, public library, Tax Collector office or government agency that handles social services.

Some public libraries have convenient evening and weekend hours. An updated event listing for voter registration is at www.votepinellas.com. Viewers can find it under News and Events/Voter Education & Registration Events.

Address changes from another Florida county made at the polls will require voters to cast provisional ballots, except for active military voters and their families. Address changes by calling 464-VOTE or emailing [email protected] and must include the date of birth.

Voters can update their records by completing and signing a voter registration application, available at www.votepinellas.com, and returning it directly to the Supervisor of Elections.

To seek future mail ballots, or more info, voters can also call (727) 464-VOTE (8683).
