The tour leaves the Detroit Hotel and takes in a small portion of the waterfront before turning onto 4th Avenue Northeast with its wonderful and eclectic collection of tourist accommodations and homes, including some of the oldest buildings left in downtown. The tour leaves downtown, going westward ho! on the Central Avenue trolley to historic Kenwood, a neighborhood that has received national recognition for its efforts at restoring its many bungalow homes. The walking tour will include a pleasant stroll among the various styled bungalow homes and an insiders tour of a restored home overlooking Seminole Park. The tour ends at the Craftsman House Gallery, the original model home for Kenwood. Fully restored, the Gallery is home to a magnificent collection of American crafts that are available for purchase. We encourage you to stay for lunch at the Gallery’s cafe and take advantage of its wonderful front porch on what should be a beautiful spring day.
