His latest offering is proof positive that he simply has no business writing about local politics. Read his column yourself and then answer what is the worst aspect of this piece analyzing the race for Republican State Committeeman in Pasco County. There are several options:
His self-referential attempt at humor with this line: “I once asked him if he takes a firearm to Sunday school.”
Or is it his assumption that Bill Bunting understands “heavy-handed tactics to get his way” because he was a union shop steward in NYC. What a ham-handed attempt at good ol’ fashioned union-bashing.
There is this throwaway line about Bunting’s opponent: that Steve Simon “gets along with others.” Really, he gets along with others? What an insight!
From there, it’s just downhill for Ingram.
He goes into the ‘if you look him up in the dictionary’ maneuver , then dismounts with “As the old saying goes, you reap what you sow.”
In a word, ugh.
Actually the old saying goes, Chris Ingram’s latest column blows.
