At approximately 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Jessica Ehrlich, a one-time congressional candidate from Pinellas County, appeared on Fox News Channel’s America’s Newsroom alongside anchors Martha MacCallum and Katie Pavlich.
It was not Ehrlich’s first appearance on Fox News.
According to Ehrlich’s Facebook page, the Democrat who lost in 2012 by more than fifteen points to the late C.W. Bill Young, appeared on April 4 on Fox’s America’s Newsroom to discuss Mozilla and paternity leave; in March, she was a guest on Sean Hannity’s radio show, as well as Neil Cavuto’s program. Ehrlich has also been a guest on Fox News Bulls and Bears and The Real Story with Gretchen Carlson.
Ehrlich has weighed in on a variety of topics, from the crisis in the Ukraine to the cost of higher education.
All of this leads one to wonder: who the hell is Ehrlich’s booking agent and how much does it cost to sign that person up?
I mean, seriously, why has Ehrlich appeared at least a half-dozen times on national television?
Because she ran for Congress once and was handily defeated?
Because she ran for Congress once and was exposed as a bit of a resume-padder?
Because she was so not-connected to District 13 that she was pushed out of the Special Election in CD 13 by national Democrats?
Ehrlich is an ambitious, intelligent woman with a pedestrian record of government service and professional work. She does not have especially deep ties to the St. Petersburg or Tampa Bay communities, so she really can’t speak from that perspective. So it’s really not clear why Ehrlich is appearing as a talking head on Fox News, other than her particular head is crowned with blonde hair, which does, in fact, go a long way on that channel.
