Will anyone get a word in edgewise at tonight’s birthday dinner for Tony DeSisto?

Happy birthday to Tony DeSisto, the former candidate for Tampa City Council who finished a surprising third in last year’s elections.

The joke of that qualifier is that I always introduce Tony as “the former City Council candidate who finished a surprising third” — the joke being whether finishing third out of five candidates was surprisingly good or surprisingly bad.

Regardless, Tony is one of best guys I know — he’s no Alan Suskey, of course — if for no other reason than his appreciation for HBO’s Game of Thrones and The Wire.  Also, like me, Tony ‘out-kicked his coverage’ when he married his wonderful wife, Courtney.

Tonight, a handful of us will celebrate Tony’s birthday over dinner, prompting me to wonder with Jamie Grant, Jordan Raynor and myself, among others, at the table, will anyone get a word in edgewise?
