Yep, it looks like Ken Burke is off the board of trustees at St. Pete College

Not exactly sure what has happened but it looks like Pinellas County Clerk of the Court Ken Burke has NOT been re-re-appointed to the board of trustees at St. Pete College.

Governor Rick Scott’s office just released a list of those re-appointed after being left in limbo by the Florida Senate’s failure to confirm Scott’s picks to run universities, colleges, state agencies and other important boards.

Not on the list is Ken Burke, who was re-appointed in September, but Deveron Gibbons is.  Gibbons was re-appointed at the same time as Burke.

The Governor’s office has subsequently confirmed that Burke will not be re-appointed.

Might Burke’s dismissal be connected to Sen. Dennis Jones’ dust-up with Scott’s Chief-of-Staff, Steve MacNamara? Burke is a political ally of Jones, who also saw his son Rod not re-appointed to the the Board of Chiropractic Medicine.
