U.S. Rep. Charlie Crist is hosting a town hall meeting Friday at the Clearwater campus of St. Petersburg College.
“My job as representative of Pinellas County in our nation’s capital means advocating for the needs of our community. Key to doing that job is hearing directly from my neighbors on areas of concern, and providing updates of my work on their behalf,” Crist said. “I look forward to hearing their views and priorities, which I will take back to Washington in the fall when Congress resumes debate on issues impacting our community.”
The town hall meeting is open to the public and will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Arts Auditorium at 2465 Drew St. Crist said constituents looking for more information on the meeting can call his district office at 727-318-6770 or visit his congressional website.
The CD 13 Democrat’s posts announcing the town hall on Facebook and Twitter received dozens of replies and shares, with many of the respondents indicating they will ask Crist about his stance on Confederate monuments during the Friday Q&A.
Crist hosted his first town hall as a congressman back in March and followed it up with “telephone town hall” specifically geared toward healthcare later in the same month.
The Aug. 25 event will be his first town hall during Congress’ month-long recess.
