So please give me a moment to say a few words about some of my friends – in politics and far from them…
I owe a long overdue congratulations to Dr. Mark Adamiak, my best friend, on his engagement to his girlfriend Brittany. Mark is simply one of the best people I know, generous to a fault, smart, charismatic, ambitious. I cannot wait to serve as his Best Man in his wedding on Labor Day.
Another round of congratulations needs to go to one of my best friends from my restaurant days, Mark Adams, and his wife Jackie on their pregnancy. It’s hard to find a couple more in love with each other. And I know they will make wonderful parents.
Speaking of new parents, congratulations to my old and renewed friend Nick Hansen and his wife on their new baby, Adam. Another new parent is my blogging colleague Ben Kirby. Mazeltoff!
It’s not a new baby, but my fraternity brother and most loyal friend, Sherwin Simmons, is starting his new job with Akerman Senterfitt today. Best of luck, El Sherwain.
My longest-serving friend (she and I have known each other since second-grade Gifted class), Sharon Rasponi, celebrated her birthday last week. Happy Birthday, Sharon. It was great to see you again.
On a more somber note, please allow me to extend my sincerest condolences to Steve Schale on the loss of his father. I know a little about what you are going through, so please know you are in my prayers.
