It’s part of every spokesperson’s job description to occasionally employ hyperbole to get their point across, however, Florida GOP spox Susan Hepworth went overboard with her quote in the Sarasota Herald-Tribune’s Jeremy Wallace’s story about support for Charlie Crist’s gubernatorial campaign spanning both parties. So here’s a morning shot-and-chaser for Hepworth.

SHOT: “Ninety-nine percent of Republicans will be with Rick Scott.” — Hepworth.

CHASER: Twelve percent of Republicans support Crist — January 30 Quinnipiac poll

CHASER: “4 percentage points — the margin Crist beats Scott by in North Florida, a Republican stronghold.” — Marc Caputo of the Miami Herald

CHASER: “1 percentage point — the margin Crist beats Scott by overall in that poll of Republican-controlled state Senate districts. The poll was paid for by the Republican Party of Florida.” — Marc Caputo of the Miami Herald
