The number one reason why Crist won’t run as an Independent, as I have explained before, is his relationship with his parents, who are stalwarts of the Republican Party. The second reason is because Crist does not believe he is really losing to Marco Rubio. So why run as an Independent?
Listening to Charlie Crist speak to a classroom of students at USF, I was flabbergasted by the state of denial Crist is in with his race against Marco Rubio. Crist was asked by one student why he was so far down in the polls, to which Crist answered he was not. Crist said the last poll he saw “only” had him down by eleven points.
Well, take a look at this graphic by Real Clear Politics. After two months of polling compiled by five different firms, Crist is down by an average of 26.8%.
