Bill to combat gas pump “skimmers” passes Senate panel

A bill that requires gas stations to toughen up security and increases penalties for fuel pump fraudsters cleared its first Senate panel Monday. SB 912 would require gas stations to secure fuel pump credit card readers to defend against data theft devices, known as “skimmers,” that capture credit and debit card information. The Sunshine State closed out 2015 with a gain of 23,800 jobs in December, according to a report released Wednesday by payroll company ADP. Most of the new jobs were in the service industry, with 2,300 jobs added in the goods-producing sectors.
