There’s still three more days until the election, but fundraising for it is over. For those who have bombarded with email solicitations from campaigns and for the campaigns sending them, the sentiment is probably something to the effect of, good riddance. Candidates in all races statewide turned in their final list of contributions yesterday. Halloween is the one day a year it’s OK for grownups to scare the bejesus out of little kids and not look like giant turds. In his latest “Friday Funnies” Tea Party anti-rail mouthpiece David McKalip is trying to scare everyone, not just kids, into a no vote on the Greenlight Pinellas transit referendum. Senate candidate Judithanne McLauchlan caught in bright shining campaign lie

An anonymous tipster with the women’s volunteer group told SaintPetersBlog that McLauchlan was not in good standing with the league. We were unable to verify that, but today the group’s president acknowledged in her own letter to members that McLauchlan…

in Uncategorized by

If you’re like me, one of the best things about having kids is stealing their Halloween candy after they go to bed. Or right in front of their face as what I like to call “the mommy tax.” Whichever. In any case, “checking” the candy in my house means tasting said candy. Peanut M&Ms are mine. No questions asked. Fork those delicious bastards over right now. Reece’s Peanut Butter Cups – yeah, I’m probably going to steal half of them…

A national non-profit nutrition group is actively trying to make sure U.S. Representative Steve Southerland isn’t re-elected. During a telephone town hall meeting Thursday night in which 24,000 voters were invited to listen in, leaders within the group blased the congressman’s voting record on food and nutrition programs. “Few things have as much direct impact on our day-to-day lives as food,” said Claire Benjamin, Managing Director…
