Before joining Florida Politics, journalist and attorney James Rosica was state government reporter for The Tampa Tribune. He attended journalism school in Washington, D.C., working at dailies and weekly papers in Philadelphia after graduation. Rosica joined the Tallahassee Democrat in 1997, later moving to the courts beat, where he reported on the 2000 presidential recount. In 2005, Rosica left journalism to attend law school in Philadelphia, afterwards working part time for a public-interest law firm. Returning to writing, he covered three legislative sessions in Tallahassee for The Associated Press, before joining the Tribune’s re-opened Tallahassee bureau in 2013. Uber-friendly legislation tops Hillsborough politicians’ wish list

The Hillsborough County Legislative Delegation will consider five proposed “local bills” that touch on the operations of “transportation network companies,” such as Uber and Lyft, according to an email sent to members on Tuesday. Maps come in for congressional redistricting challenge

A Jewish holiday is causing a delay in the filing of replacement maps in the ongoing congressional redistricting court challenge. Last week, Circuit Judge Terry Lewis gave parties in the suit until Monday to turn in their proposed versions of how to draw boundary lines for Florida’s 27 congressional districts. Judge gives redistricting parties extra time for maps

Circuit Judge Terry Lewis has given parties in the ongoing congressional redistricting case until Monday to submit their final versions of how to draw boundary lines for those districts.
