in Statewide/Top Headlines by

U.S. Rep. Gwen Graham said she is disappointed in Monday’s district to uphold redrawn U.S. House maps. Graham responded to news that a federal panel struck down objections to a 2015 redistricting decision filed by U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown who, like Graham, will now see radical changes to her congressional district. “I’m disappointed the Second Congressional District will be transformed from a fair, moderate district into two extreme partisan districts. Dividing Tallahassee hurts North Florida and our community,” said Graham. “Now that the…

It requires insurers to use master death lists they already possess to tell the survivors of loved ones when benefits are made available through a life insurance policy.  CFO Jeff Atwater was a vocal proponent of the…

Consumers for Smart Solar kicked-off a new phase of its effort to pass a solar energy amendment to the state constitution at a press conference Tuesday. The campaign was once seen as merely a foil for a rival amendment, pitched by environmental groups like the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy. That initiative ran out of gas when it failed to gather enough petitions to appear on the November ballot, leaving Consumers for Smart Solar’s proposed amendment all alone in the contentious debate over…

U.S. Rep. Gwen Graham‘s ever-busy comms shop released a new video Monday reviewing the congresswoman’s recent trip to Wakulla Springs, an ecologically sensitive tourist attraction and environmental lynchpin for North Florida. Graham piloted a boat, took samples of the now-murky spring water, and spoke with local activists who are pushing for action to return the springs and surrounding waterways to their once pristine clarity.
