Florida’s largest nurse organization released its list of candidate endorsements for the Aug. 26 primary elections. African-American Heritage Trail opens in the ‘burg

The city of St. Petersburg is unveiling a 2-mile African-American Heritage Trail to honor and recount the history and memories of the city’s black residents. The trail opened Saturday. The Tampa Bay Times reports the route traces a 100-year period, beginning in 1868 with the arrival of the first African-Americans to St. Petersburg, and continuing to 1968 and the civil rights era.
