Today, the partners of BellaBrava: New World Trattoria announced that they have reached a deal to open a new restaurant-tavern concept on Beach Drive.

Scheduled to open in early 2015, the yet-to-be-named tavern will be located at 224 Beach Drive NE, currently occupied by Bruce Waters Jewelers, which will move to a new storefront. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Partners detailed plans for a brand-new state-of-the-art 4,000 square foot construction with extensive outdoor seating. The restaurant will feature contemporary American tavern fare in a family-friendly space with a value-oriented menu geared to please every palate and budget. Demolition of the current structure is set to begin in late April, 2014.

“Beach Drive is the center of St. Petersburg’s dining scene, and we are very excited to be expanding our presence there,” said Robert Sanderson, co-owner of BellaBrava. “Our new tavern is sure to please and excite the diner that loves good American classics as well as some truly inspired originals.”

The tavern will have an extensive draught beer selection, wines by the bottle and glass, and a full bar.

“BellaBrava has been a long-term tenant of ours,” said Bill Bond of Beach Drive Associates, “We look forward to building on that relationship with a new building and a long-term partnership with their sister restaurant.”

Recently voted the Best Italian Restaurant in Tampa Bay by Creative Loafing readers, BellaBrava has been located at 204 Beach Drive NE for 3 and a half years.
