Republican Brad Drake added another $16,170 during March in his bid to return to the Florida House in District 5, giving him a total of $229,005.

After two terms in the House, Drake stepped aside after redistricting in 2012 to allow Republican Rep. Marti Coley could finish her last term in the seat covering Holmes, Jackson, Walton, Washington counties and part of Bay County.

In the month ending March 31, Drake spent $9,398 in expenditures, for a total campaign price tag of $70,470, giving the Defuniak Springs Republican $158,535 cash on hand.

Jan Hooks, Drake’s main GOP contender, raised $2,350 in March, for a total of $58,425. The Emerald Coast Realtor now has $54,186 in her war chest.
