Former Dunedin Mayor and successful small businessman Bob Hackworth will seek the District 4 seat of the Pinellas County Commission currently held by Susan Latvala. Hackworth will formally announce his campaign in a speech at the Pinellas Democratic Party’s Kennedy King Dinner on Saturday. Democrat Janet Cruz won an easy victory in a special election for the District 58 state House seat today. Cruz replaces Michael Scionti, who resigned from his post in December to take a job with the U.S. Department of Defense. Among those at Cruz’s victory party: State Rep.
