The chairman of the group researching a possible new Rays stadium location sent a letter to city leaders, urging them to re-consider a meeting. An elderly, possibly homeless man was struck and killed as he crossed West Columbus Drive on Friday night, Tampa police say. According to a report, the man was crossing in the middle of the 2900 block about 8:30 p.m. when he stepped in front of a 2006 Ford Escape driven by Christopher Cano, 26.
