Equality Florida says St. Pete’s next Mayor will be either Bill Foster or Scott Wagman

in Peter/The Bay and the 'Burg by

Sorry Kathleen Ford, you may be leading in the polls, with most political insiders predicting Ford is all but guaranteed a place in the General Election, but Equality Florida’s Nadine Smith says St. Pete’s next Mayor will be either Bill Foster or Scott Wagman. In a post on the Equality Florida blog, the normally intelligent Smith seems to forget about the front-running Ford, painting the mayoral campaign in rather stark terms: “The city’s next mayor will either be Scott Wagman…

Frank Peterman endorses Angela Rouson

in The Bay and the 'Burg by

Angela Rouson has received the support and endorsement of Reverend Frank Peterman, Jr. “The Reverend Peterman has always helped us find the best in ourselves, and I stride to do the same,” said Angela Rouson. Reverend Frank Peterman Jr. said: “District 5 is fortunate enough to have three strong candidates running for the St. Petersburg City Council. 10 things I think I think about the televised ‘Conversation with the Candidates’

in The Bay and the 'Burg by

1. The St. Petersburg Times should be embarrassed by the turnout at last night’s forum. There wasn’t more than 150 people in the audience, none of whom haven’t already made up their mind. The entire balcony was empty! That’s how bad the Times’ “picayune” coverage has been…that no one, and I mean no one, cares enough to show up for the only televised debate of the campaign. Where was the Police Chief or members of his command? Where were the…

When the typical American family goes on vacation to Yellowstone National Park, they go to Ol’ Faithful, they take photos of the wildlife, keep an eye out for the occasional bear. You know, the whole ‘taking in nature’ thing. Not Dr. David McKalip. You may remember him as the St. Petersburg doctor who emailed out a photoshopped picture of Barack Obama depicted as a witch doctor. As president-elect of the Pinellas Medical Association and a prominent opponent of the President’s…

Angela Rouson sends out the cutest mailpiece of the campaign

in The Bay and the 'Burg by

Okay, okay, there is not a lot of high-level policy discussed in Angela Rouson’s latest mailpiece, but I think that is the point. Evoking a similar effort by her husband during his campaign, this mailpiece reminds voters about the best aspect of Angela Rouson, her compassionate mothering of five young men. Because in this day and age, if Angela can keep five young men in line, she should have no problem with Leslie Curran and Wengay Newton. Great photography, nice…
