Charlie Crist becomes an issue in Todd Akin race

As he tries to rally Republican voters, embattled Missouri Senate candidate Todd Akin is bringing up Charlie Crist’s unsuccessful run for the Senate in 2010.

The Sarasota Herald-Tribune reports (via the News Service of Florida) that Akin is saying on social media that “party bosses” tried to push Marco Rubio out of the Florida Senate race to clear the way for Crist to win. Akin is likening that situation to party leaders trying to get him to leave the Missouri Senate race after he made controversial comments about rape and abortion.
