Chris Latvala will hold a fundraiser on Wednesday, April 30 for his bid for House District 67.
The event begins 5:30 p.m. at the Rumba Island Bar & Grill in Clearwater.
Among those attending include Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri, past Clearwater Mayors Brian Aungst and Frank Hibbard, former state Rep. Jim Frishe, Clearwater City Council member Doreen Hock-DiPolito, Belleair Bluffs Commissioner Suzy Sofer and Tampa Bay Area Regional Transportation Authority Chair Ronnie Duncan.
Also supporting Latvala will be fellow Republican House hopefuls Chris Sprowls, the District 65 candidate facing Democrat Carl Zimmerman, and Bill Young II, who is vying for Dwight Dudley’s District 68 seat.
Latvala, son of State Sen. Jack Latvala, is currently leading the race for term-limited Rep. Ed Hooper’s seat, which covers parts of Clearwater, Largo and Pinellas Park. He served in the 2014 Leadership Pinellas class and currently sits on the Pinellas MPO Citizen Advisory Committee, the Ruth Eckerd Hall Government Advocacy Committee and the Community Relations Committee for New Life Solutions.
Latvala is a Pinellas County native and graduate of UCF, who from 2006-2009 also worked as Hooper’s legislative aide, and has received an enthusiastic endorsement from his former boss.
