Dave Matthews Band Caravan going to Governors Island and the Gorge

The Dave Matthews Band Caravanwill travel toGovernors Island, New York City, August 26th-28th and make its final stop of the year at theGorge Amphitheatre in George, WA on Labor Day Weekend, September 2nd-4th. DMB will perform a headlining set each night with performances by a diverse lineup of musical talent taking place on multiple stages throughout each day.

Governors Island, a 172-acre island in the heart of New York Harbor, offers spectacular views of the New York City skyline and five miles of vehicle-free bicycle trails. The island is only 800 yards from Lower Manhattan and even closer to Brooklyn. Recently named one of America’s coolest urban parks byTravel + Leisure magazine, it will be accessible by free concert specific ferries at designated locations.

In addition to Dave Matthews Band performing a full set each day, the lineup at Governors Island will includeDispatch, The Roots, Gogol Bordello, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Josh Ritter and The Royal City Band, B? Fleck and the Flecktones, The Head and the Heart, Vieux Farka Tour?David Wax Museum and many more to be announced soon.

The Gorge will mark Dave Matthews Band’s only West Coast performances of 2011. The Gorge Amphitheatre’s breathtaking location offers sweeping views of the Columbia River and the Columbia Gorge Canyon. It is easily accessible from such nearby metropolitan areas as Seattle, Spokane, Portland and Vancouver.
