Democratic Congressional candidate Nina Hayden failed to qualify because of sloppy paperwork

Congratulations Jessica Ehrlich, you’re now the Democratic nominee in Congressional District 13.

But, wait a second, isn’t Nina Hayden also a candidate in this race?  Didn’t we just see her last week debate Ehrlich at a Tiger Bay forum?

Well, yes, Nina Hayden was running for this seat and she did debate Ehrlich last week, but, according to the Division of Elections, Hayden’s paperwork was incomplete.  Chris Cate, spokesman for the Secretary of State’s office explains that “Ms. Hayden’s paperwork was not complete as required by s. s. 99.061(7), FS.  The notary failed to sign her Candidate Oath form.”

And, like that, Hayden moved to the “Did Not Qualify” section on the candidate listing of the Division of Elections’ website.

I’m checking with Hayden’s campaign in an attempt to determine what is going on.
