Dems fail to replace candidate in HD 74; Doug Holder on way to another term

State Representative Doug Holder will not have to wait until election day to win another two year term in office.

The Osprey Republican has been declared the winner of a new term because his only opponent, Democrat Andrew Saltman, suddenly withdrew from the Nov. 6 race earlier this month.  The Democratic Party had until Thursday to find a replacement for Saltman.

Saltman told the Florida Division of Elections in a letter that he was resigning because he was moving out of the area and that he was “tired of being harrassed by reporters!”
