Donald Trump will not take part in any Republican National Convention events in Tampa but will still make an appearance in Sarasota on Sunday, the Sarasota Republican Party said.

Trump is expected to be the guest of honor at an event at Sarasota’s Ritz-Carlton. He’s being named Statesman of the Year by the Sarasota Republican Party.

He is expected to attend the sold-out dinner event despite the threat of tropical weather from Isaac, but the party said in a release that he’d return to New York after the event.

The release was headlined, “Trump bigger than Isaac.”

Trump previously Tweeted that he’d have an RNC surprise on Monday night at the convention.
