Eight Pinellas cities holding municipal elections today

It’s Election Day again in Pinellas County.

Eight cities are holding various elections for mayor, city council and referendums. Supervisor of Elections Deborah Clark says, this is a regularly scheduled election for the county, but that only a handful if the municipalities actually take part.

Elections are taking place in Belleair Bluffs, Gulfport, Kenneth City, Oldsmar, Seminole, South Pasadena, Tarpon Springs, Treasure Island.

More than 60,000 Pinellas County residents will have the opportunity to cast a ballot today.

“We run them as one election, but the turnout will vary from city to city based on what’s on the ballot,” Clark said. “For instance, in those two municipalities where the mayor’s race is on the ballot, that might increase voter turnout in those cities.

“So it’s really hard to consolidate eight city elections and predict what turnout will be.”

Overall turnout is expected to be light.
