On Sunday, moms all over the world will become the center of attention in one of the most sentimental holidays of the spring season — Mother’s Day.
For Lucille Lovitt, Nan Rich’s mother, the coming holiday presents a perfect opportunity for a campaign email introducing the heartwarming backstory of the Democratic gubernatorial hopeful, as well shedding light on the roots of her political sensibilities.
“As a child,” Lovitt says, “Nan (and her sisters) attended public schools in Dade County, all graduating from Miami Beach High. Nan was always involved in school and community activities, and was an excellent student!
“As an adult, she became a strong advocate for public education.”
Obviously proud of her daughter, Lovett touts a few of her accomplishments: founder of the Guardian ad Litem Program for abused and neglected children, initiated early childhood programs like HIPPY, and elected to serve as National President of the National Council of Jewish Women.
As if the uplifting story of Nan Rich was not enough to open wallets of supporters — it is a campaign email, after all—Lovitt comes up with a real kicker.
Not only is Sunday Mother’s Day, but it is also her 92nd birthday!
How can anyone say no to THAT?
