On Wednesday, the Florida Chamber of Commerce named Todd Powell as North Central Florida regional chair.
Powell is general manager of real estate at Plum Creek, the nation’s largest private landowner for forest products and mineral extraction. He will serve a year-long term as one of 12 people in the Regional Chair Program.
“Plum Creek is committed to investing the time and resources necessary to support the Florida Chamber’s initiatives to make Florida the number one place to work and live,” Powell said in a statement, adding that his appointment is an “opportunity to help secure Florida’s future.”
Chamber Chair Steve Knopik, president and CEO of Bealls, appointed Powell to work with North Central Florida area business and legislative leaders to help create “the most competitive business environment” statewide.
“Todd Powell is a seasoned business leader that fully understands the important role North Central Florida plays in continuing to move Florida forward,” said Chamber CEO Mark Wilson. “In his role as a Florida Chamber regional chair, Todd will volunteer his time and talent in support of the Florida Chamber’s pro-business initiatives.”
