After serving three years as President of the Florida Chamber Foundation, Dr. Dale Brill announced his plans to leave his post in early 2013 in order to start an economic development practice.  Dr. Brill will remain President of the Florida Chamber Foundation until January.

Mark Wilson, who serves as Florida Chamber President and CEO as well as Chief Executive Officer of the Chamber Foundation, will serve as interim President until a new foundation President is officially named.

“When I hired Dale to build our next generation Foundation, the Trustees and I were  looking for a proven leader who understood Florida’s needs and who had the experience to design, build and manage a program that would serve as a positive change agent in securing Florida’s future,” said Mark Wilson, President and CEO of the Florida Chamber. “I couldn’t be more grateful for Dale’s contributions to the significant programs and community building capabilities being offered through the Florida Chamber Foundation. Dr. Brill and his team have been invaluable in positioning the Foundation for future growth. I’m honored he will remain as a Foundation Trustee and continue to help secure Florida’s future.”

“Under Dr. Brill’s leadership, the Foundation’s Six Pillars, the Florida Scorecard and the Six Pillars Caucus System reached new heights in efforts to secure Florida’s economic future,” said Bentina Terry, Chair, Foundation Board of Trustees and Vice President for Gulf Power. “He has catapulted the Foundation to another level and I look forward to working with Foundation Trustees and staff in continuing the momentum across the state.”

“During the last three years, our research and analysis have ushered in a comprehensive view of Florida’s economy including the next generation of economic thinking,” said Dr. Dale Brill, outgoing Foundation President. “The timing is right to start a new chapter of putting these tools to work. The Florida Chamber Foundation’s Six Pillars framework combined with www.thefloridascorecard.com are providing the tools for Florida’s long term strategic plan to be successful.  In twenty years, when history books are written about this era, I believe they will report that the work of the Trustees and staff of the foundation were the launch pad of Florida’s future.  I’m honored to have played a role in advancing the mission of the organization. Mostly, I’m grateful to our Foundation staff for the amazing work they perform, to Chamber President Mark Wilson for choosing me as the Foundation leader and I’m especially grateful to our foundation Trustees and Community Development Partners who’ve made our vision a reality.  As I start my new business next year, I look forward to the opportunity to continue serving as a Foundation Trustee and to encouraging other business and community leaders to engage as well.”
