Calling on all “grassroots attendees” to participate in shaping the future, the Florida Democratic Party announced the official schedule of events for its 2013 State Conference.
The event will be October 25-27, 2013 at the Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resort in Orlando. The FDP call this meeting the largest gathering of state Democrats in the 2014 election cycle.
Filling the conference will be teaching, caucus and club meetings, as well as speeches by both national and statewide Democrats.
Kicking off the event Friday will be training in the PROMISE program, a youth and leadership development plan to inspire the next generation of Democratic leaders. PROMISE works with Florida College Democrats, Florida Young Democrats, State Representatives & Senators, and Democratic municipal officials, to create the Class of 2013.
Among the other caucuses are Women, Veterans, Hispanics, Blacks, GLBT and the Faith-Based community.
Highlights of the Conference include several “We Are Florida!” panels, on Saturday, Oct 26 to discuss the subjects of Education, Healthcare Access and Marriage Equality. There will also be a Florida Speaks Tour hosted by the Florida Democratic Black Caucus. Panel discussions and the tour are available to all Democrats.
Organizers are offering special rates for conference attendees who want to stay at one of the resort hotels on the Disney Epcot property—the BoardWalk Inn or the Yacht and Beach Club.
