Sometimes, it pays to be an assistant football coach.
Just ask the staff of FSU coach Jimbo Fisher.
FSU is seventh in the nation when it comes to paying its assistants, according to a survey by USA Today, even though individually, a Seminole assistant isn’t one of the higher paid coaches. The top-paid FSU assistant is 43rd in the country.
Overall, however the Seminoles pay, they trail five SEC schools – LSU, Auburn, Alabama, Georgia and Texas A&M, and one ACC school – Clemson.
The University of Florida is 10th in the SEC and 20th in the nation in pay.
