Clemson coach Dabo Swinney has voted, and he says that FSU’s Dalvin Cook is the best running back in the country.
Swinney, of course, is a bit biased. He has a game coming up against FSU, and therefore, he’ll have to stop Cook. He does not have to worry about LSU’s Leonard Fournette, Ohio State’s Ezekial Elliott, Utah’s Devontae Booker or Stanford’s Chris McCaffrey.
Swinney said that Cook “is the best running back in the country” while discussing the job that Cook did on the Miami Hurricanes, whom Clemson plays this week.
“They did a great job against Florida State except for three plays,” Swinney said, “and they were going against as good a player as there is in the country in Cook. That guy is a freak. They couldn’t have done a better job, but he made three plays that won the game.”
Cook had a 72-yard run, a 23-yard run and a 36-yard pass reception to lead the Hurricanes past Miami.
Fournette leads the nation with 1,202 yards. Cook is fifth at 955.
