This time, Gators’ only player on All-SEC team is defensive back Jalen Tabor

Perhaps this will strike you as familiar. But the University of Florida finds itself in the same position as a year ago.

Last year, the Gators also had only one player on the first-team preseason All-SEC team, a defensive back. Despite that, Florida became one of the early-season surprises in the SEC.

This year, Jalen Tabor is the only Gator on the first-team all-SEC team.

The Gators on the second team were offensive linemen Martez Ivey and David Sharpe, defensive lineman Bryan Cox, linebacker Jarrad Davis and punter Johnny Towsend. Defensive lineman CeCe Jefferson and defensive back Marcus Maye were on the third team.

Despite the players’ finish, Florida was picked to finish second to Tennessee in the SEC East.
