Stamkos scored midway through the third period on a pass from Ryan Callahan to give the Lighting their third goal. It was the 277th goal of his Lightning career.
The Lightning got on the board on the first Lightning goal by Erik Contra. Nikita Kucherov broke a 1-1 tie late in the second period. J.T. Brown scored the fourth goal for the Lightning.
Ben Bishop stopped 24 of 25 shots for the Bolts.
The Lightning has a busy week ahead, playing at Boston Monday and Detroit on Tuesday before returning to Tampa to play host to Dallas on Thursday night and Buffalo on Saturday.
